Introduction and Characteristics
The Department of Korean Language and Literature strives to foster creative and practical individuals who have a wide and deep understanding of history and culture, and can play an active role in the world, including Korea, with their academic understanding of the Korean language and literature. Also, the department aims to foster independent individuals who create individualism and intentions in their lives and follow a strict routine while improving their focused study of the humanities, linguistics and literature.
In the Department of Korean Language and Literature, specialized knowledge about Korean Language and Literature is being taught through knowledge about Korean linguistics, such as language phoneme, language grammar and language history, knowledge about Korean classical literature, such as oral literature, classical novel and Chinese literature, and knowledge about modern and contemporary literature, such as modern novels, modern history and modern plays. In addition, practical knowledge, such as an outline of culture, creation, Korean language education, publication and broadcasting, is also being taught. Furthermore, deep human and academic exchange is being created between senior and junior colleagues as well as professors and students through all sorts of creation meetings, study sessions, play activities, scholarship explorations and sports activities in addition to the regular courses.

Moreover, it seeks many phenomenon and values related to classical and modern literature through deep research and activities all over literature and finds ways to understand and creatively inherit the traditional and modern cultures of Korea.
