Course Application and Selection Process
- 1Overview
Within 20 days after the beginning of the first semester of the second year (early of March), the application for the teaching course should be submitted to the teaching team (Natural Science Campus Academic Support Team). Students must take total 22 credits of teaching courses from the second year to before graduation. However, students entering before 2009 must take a teaching course (20 credits). (2 teaching courses are required as a mandatory in 2nd grade.) - 2Application and Procedure
- Eligibility: 2nd year students who wish to complete the teaching course (only in the department that the teaching course is installed)
- Application Procedure: Within 20 days after the beginning of the first semester of each year, visit the teaching team (Natural Campus Academic Support Team) within the application period to complete and submit a teaching course application form. (separate notice will be provided)
- 3Students who do not submit a course application form, may not be selected as teaching course prospective for the third year.
- 4Guidance for Transfer Students
- Undergraduate Transfer: Students who have acquired a teacher's certificate at a former university and are transferred to a university, can take a teacher's course without selecting elective teaching courses.
- General Transfer Students: Students who have been selected as candidates for teaching at a former university and can be selected as candidates for teaching courses only if there are available seats for teaching candidates.
- 5Selection and Procedures for Candidates
After being selected first among the applicants for the teaching course within the approval capacity of the Ministry of Education, after character and aptitude interviewing by the teacher training committee, final confirmation made and reported to the office of academic affairs. The student, not listed on the list of candidates for the teacher's course at the beginning of the third grade, may not be certified as a teacher after completing the teacher's course. The student may appeal the results within a certain period of time after being announced as candidates for teaching.
Completion of Teaching Course
- 1After admission, students, enrolled in the third semester (returned students and re-admitted students), will be selected at the end of the second year or the beginning of the third year.
- 2Among the applicants for the completion of the teaching course, by considering the personnel, aptitude and grades as secondary teachers, shall be selected within the number of candidates approved by the Ministry of Education.
- 3The selection is made based on the grades of the 1st and 2nd graders within the approved numbers. Conformity or nonconformity will be made by in-depth interviews with professors in each department.
- 4Even after applying for a teaching position (after completion of the third semester), take a leave of absence, the status of the applicant is maintained.
- 5Only those selected as candidates for the teaching, can continue the teaching process.
- 6Second year transfer students can apply for a teaching course in a transferred department (undergraduate or major).
- 7All transfers of third year are considered to give up their qualifications as candidates for teaching upon transfer the department.
- 8Candidates must complete the following conditions before graduation.
Admitted before 2008 (including 2008)
- 1Major courses are required at least 42 credits (major credits required for graduation is higher) and GPA should be managed as B grade(80point) or more
- 2Completion of 10 courses (20 credits) in the teaching curriculum and management with GPA of B (80 points) or higher, and at least 14 credits in the basic courses.
- 3One or more compatible results from teaching and aptitude tests
- 4Complete at least two times practice of First Aid and CPR exercises
Admitted after 2013
- 1At least 50 credits from Major courses are required (major credits required for graduation is higher) and GPA of major courses should be managed as higher than 75/100
- 2Completion of 11 courses (22 credits) in teaching curriculum, with an average score of 80/100 or higher
- 37 courses of department basic courses (7 ~ 10 courses, different by each department, please refer to the courses for teaching), 21 credits or more
- 42 or more compatible results from teaching and aptitude tests
- 5At least two times or more practice of First aid and CPR exercises
