Introduction and Characteristics
Based on its comprehensive specializations, students of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy learn macroscopic perspectives on an organization’s internal management and its future. Therefore, majors of political science find their jobs in almost every sector in the society, except for special fields requires expertise of natural science and technology. Career path after graduation is generally becoming civil service examinations for diplomacy, public administration, the bar exam, journalism, broadcasting, publication, public agencies, ordinary companies, and international organizations
Mission Statement
Based on Free Democracy,
- 1First, the department researches theories, systems, phenomenon and ideologies of general political science and international politics, which is a basic field of social science.
- 2Second, the department fosters students’ characteristic and leadership to train them as talents who can actively engage with the globalized era, and the national development.
- 3Third, the department ultimately aims to train capable and talented scholars, politicians, diplomats, public officials, journalists and businessmen

1990. | Department of Political Science and Diplomacy was transferred to Seoul Campus, following the university policy to divide the whole university into two campuses. |
1988. | First graduation ceremony of the department was held. The alumni’s association was established. Master’s course in the graduate school was newly established. |
1984. | First matriculation ceremony of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy in Yong-in Campus. |
1983. | The institution became a full university and the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy was approved with 39 students as its Full student capacity. |
