Introduction and Characteristics
The Department. of Public Administration was established in 1963 and has developed itself since then as the department being proud of 40-years long history. The Department of Public Administration has the following strengths that are not comparable to this tradition.
- 1First, the curriculum that is arranged for new globalized era and the curriculum focuses on strengthening abilities for public information processing and analysis.
- 2Second, the department arranged its curriculum for the increasing number of students who dream of becoming public welfare experts as the needs for social welfare expands.
- 3Third, the department employed capable professors and holds seminars regularly to establish an academic atmosphere.
- 4Fourth, the department runs special classes for Civil Service Examination the Higher Civil Service Examination and provides various programs for students who want to become public servants.
Mission Statement
The department aims to foster talents capable of being public administration professionals in the 21th century. To this end, the department provides career counseling for public jobs, special courses for education sectors and the curriculum for jobs in social welfare and civil organizations.

2006~2007. | The department was designated as the beneficiary of the second phase of long-term development support. |

2005.06. | Selected as the nation's second in the field of professor research, nationwide evaluation of Public Administration department by the JoongAng Ilbo |
2004.03.01. | The College of Law and Politics changed into the College of Social Science. |
2003~2005. | Designated as the beneficiary of the First phase of long-term development support, the best department in 2004. |
2003.11.12. | 40th Anniversary Academic Seminar and Celebration Event of Department of Public Administration held |
2003.02.26. | 47 graduates of daytime and 38 graduates of daytime in the 36th graduation |
1989.10.28. | The University was divided into two campuses: Yong-in and Seoul. Two Departments of Public Administration were unified. |
1973.01.08. | Doctor's course in the Graduate School was newly established. |
1968.02.25. | First graduation ceremony of the Department of Public Administration was held. |
1967.12.15. | Myongji Graduate School is Founded and Department of Public Administration(8 students: Personnel Administration, Financial Administration, Office Management, Public Security Administration) is established. |
1963.12.16. | Myongji College (a four-year institution) was newly established. Department of Public Administration was established |
1963.02.08. | Department of public practices and business management was established. |
