Introduction and Specialization
The paradigm of traditional industry is moving fast around software. Existing hardware and infrastructure-oriented industries are undergoing major changes as new types of industries are created by combining various services and technologies based on software. Now SW has become a core competitiveness in creating high added value in various industries such as finance, machinery, media, construction, medical, and defense. It is impossible to follow the international trend of SW convergence without understanding and knowledge of SW technology.
The Department. of Convergence Software fosters professional converging software engineers equipped with international sensation and humanistic skills to meet the era of software convergence. By breaking away from the department store like IT education, focusing on two majors: Application Software and Data Technology. It aims to foster professionals in the age of convergence software by providing specialized and systematic training, appropriate for the detailed convergence domain.
Major of Application Software
In today's society, computer software, playing the role of the brain of information technology, it is divided into platform software for operating the computer itself such as an operating system, communication, and application software that provides services by using the base software such as banks, games, and robots. Among these, application software is subdivided into the enterprise software for providing collective services to customers such as banks and online games, into the standard software for providing special functions on personal computers such as Hangul, Excel, and into embedded software to support specific hardware such as robots and automobiles.
This department aims to foster mainly application software engineers, especially for enterprise application software engineers. In application software majors, 1) develop the logical thinking and business modeling capabilities required for software development, 2) operate in-depth programming practice through tie with the industry 3) train the overall knowledge of software development, management, and supervision processes. Software engineers, equipped with this competency, advance to the fields of content providers that provide distributed services such as computer labs, portals and online games in various companies such as public companies, governments, banks and securities, and also advance to the information technology service companies that develop enterprise software.

Data Technology Major
As the case of global companies such as Google, Apple, and Amazon shows, data is no longer subject to simple date storage or retrieval. With the development of big data technology, popularization of various mobile devices, social networks, and the expansion of Internet of Things, technology that quickly generates, collects, analyzes and expresses various kinds of large-scale data has become a key element of corporate competitiveness. This data technology is a convergence of disciplines that cannot be dealt with as a traditional curriculum, and it requires talents who possesses natural science and engineering knowledge such as computer science, statistics, human resources and in combination with various humanities such as business administration and psychology.
It aims to foster creative and practical convergence talents through a systematic hands-on process, tied with the industry and practical project-based education based on the convergence of humanities and IT technology. Graduates are able to advance into the various industries including specialized IT companies, public companies, government, financial institutions, etc. as the role of specialized data analysts, data SW developers, and big data computing managers, etc.
