Introduction
By pioneering the field of applied research on the scientific management of records and information, emerging as a key resource of value-added production, and educating them, graduate school of archival sciences aims to contribute comprehensively to the related industry of records and information of our society. The applied area of records and information span a variety of fields, and the graduate school of archival sciences in Myongji University is strengthening its inner circle of education by focusing on the area of records management and sports records analysis. In addition, through actively promoting academic-industrial and academic related programs, and by harmonizing theory and practices, the graduate school puts the best efforts to foster professionals who can respond to social demands
Major of Records Management
The major of records management is to foster professionals who scientifically manage records of government, corporations and social organizations. Since the Archives Management Act of 2000, until the “National Archives Management Innovation Roadmap” was released recently, archives management in our society has been gradually developed to the level of other advanced countries. As like, the record researcher's position has already been created in the government and the recruitment of specialists is being expanded, the demand for records management professionals in the public sector is increasing rapidly. The professional graduate school will actively respond to these public demands by operating records management major based on a strong educational foundation. In addition, since 2000, the demand of various archival management has been generated by companies and other social organizations. The corporate project for the advancement of electronic payment and record management is already vitalized, and the movement to combine job process innovation and archival management to ensure organizational transparency and efficiency is becoming visualized. By fostering professors to meet the demands of society, the major of archival management will make the best effort to settle down scientific records management throughout our society.
Major of Sports Records and Analysis
The Sports Records and Analysis major aims to foster systematically the professionals of records analysis and records information management in the sports sector, to become one of the most competitive 21st century countries. In the major of Sports Records Analysis based on IT-related subjects with deep interdisciplinary relations at the same time, by incorporating theories and practical skills of the sports field into the curriculum, it is fostering the professionals of sports records analysis and record information management to meet the demand for current sport related knowledge and information industry. In addition, by operating the curriculum to enhance the design ability of web database as well as application software, it will focus on fostering talents who have the ability to creatively produce insights from records analysis in each sports area
Major of Cultural Resource Management
Cultural heritage is the fruit of traditional culture and a resource for creating new culture. Cultural heritage is therefore a cultural resource. However, cultural heritage cannot be used as cultural resources. By collecting, analyzing and classifying various hidden and dispersed data, and sorting them into the right category, they become useful resources. This is indispensable not only for understanding history and culture, but also for planning and creating current and future cultures. Cultural institutions that hold traditional cultural heritage such as museums and art galleries, public institutions that preserve and manage cultural heritage, public and private sectors that produce new types of cultural events and works using cultural resources, talents with the capability to manage and utilize cultural resources, are required from those areas. Therefore, the major of cultural resource record will study and research on Korean cultural heritage and today's Korean arts to be equipped with a deep understanding, and it absorbs the achievements of the research subjects in the adjacent academic fields and prepares the unique perspectives and methodology of cultural resources. In addition, the major makes students cultivate the ability to process and manage cultural heritage as cultural resources by applying the research results and methodology of records studies, and it ensures that students have the capacity to supply and service cultural resources, which is for being used in all sectors of culture and culture industry
