Introduction and Characteristics
The Departement. of International Business and Trade Founded in 1962 as a department of Trade, has been fostering numerous advanced professionals with values backed by experience and solid traditions. The Department of International Trade was renamed as International Business and Trade in 2006 since the previous trade department focused on trade practice, and it is was not enough to meet the ever-changing social demands for the professionals equipped with global sense and capability in the face of global competition. As the importance and interests of trade relations and economic cooperation between countries increased. The department organized a specialized curriculum including international trade and global management. The curriculum’s aim is to foster future professionals of international trade and international business and who can actively respond to the increased cooperation between countries. To this end, the Department of International Business and Trade is making efforts to supplement the practical field of application centered on industrial sites practice in responding to the rapidly changing internal and external environment and industrial structure changes required for fostering of integrated human resources. On the other hand, the department holds various students centered events to help them to continuously develop.
Mission Statement
The educational vision of the Department of International Business & Trade is “to foster integrated talents who can lead the global era.” We’re reinforcing our capabilities of education and research to cultivate talents who can lead the globalization by actively participating in the global competition. Three educational goals to realize the vision are to cultivate the talent who is a future-oriented cosmopolitan, a capable trade expert, and a member of society in harmony with the world.
Fostering Progressive talents to advance to the global market
In order to foster talented human resources equipped with practical plans and preparations for global market entry, the department educates and supports the practical challenge will and the practice by comprehensive operating of curriculum and non-curriculum to make the students can actively plan and prepare. As the educational contents for expanding the opportunities for students to advance into the global market, the department will organically connect the global frontier academic system, global leadership program, lifelong advisory program, and current student-graduates mentoring program, so that students can strengthen their on-site learning ability and their competitiveness for career and job.
Fostering talents exerting their capabilities of trade and global management
The department trains and educates in-depth professional competences to realize student's vision and actively contribute to national economic development through fostering competent and sincere professionals of trade, logistics, and global management with a competitive edge in the global marketplace.
The talent with the capability of social communication and current problem solving ability
In a diverse competition society, not only professional competence but also social communication and problem-solving skills are considered more important qualification. Students are educated to communicate their intellect, character and emotion based on Christian spirit with members of society in the global society and to form the personality to achieve self-development as a more mature global professional

Major Change and Transfer Admission Standard
Major Change (Application: early February)
Application accepted only by students with a GPA over 3.0, and selected by GPA (50%) and Study Plan (50%, evaluated in the field of motivation and commitment to transfer, career exploration planning and academic achievement, etc.)
Double Majors (Operation Guidelines for Management Education Training Certification Program)
- A system designed to allow students to have two bachelor’s degrees if they attended majors of the department (division), and major courses in another department (at least 45 credits including mandatory majors and selected courses)
- If students majored in double majors in other department under college of business administration, overlapping major courses can be admitted up to 9 credits.
Teacher profession (2nd grade teacher certificate in commercial information granted.)
Students selected as teacher professions shall be qualified as "Commercial Information" course teachers (2nd grade).
