In 1963, school name was changed from Moo-gung Institution to Myongji Institute based on Christian Faith.
After the inauguration of President Sang-Geun You in 1964, the universities name was changed to Myongji University. After being approved as a four-year course University, 10 Development Programs including building new lecture halls, making and reorganizing departments, establishing graduate schools were approved
