■ Admission Requirements
1. Common
A. Nationality : Applicant and both parents must be non-Korean
B. Language requirement for faculty of which language of instruction is Korean
* Language requirement: Must fulfill at least one of the followings:
1) Those whose undergraduate/graduate major was Korean language or who has graduated from a university in Korea
2) Those who have obtained minimum TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 4
※ Department of Arts and Physical Education: Minimum TOPIK Level 3
3) Those who have passed the Korean Language Test administered by Myongji University
(These students are required to submit the official TOPIK test result within 6 months from their admission.) * Topik 4 required, except for Department of Arts and Physical Education (TOPIK Level 3)
4) Those who have been approved by the Dean of Office International Affairs upon the official recommendation by the department chair given students’ academic excellence. In such case, admitted applicants are required to complete minimum 2 semesters in the Myongji University Korean Language Education Center.
C. Language requirement for faculty of which language of instruction is English
※ for students who have been admitted to carry out specific research projects under the supervision of each academic advisor
* Language requirement: Must fulfill at least one of the followings:
1) Those who have obtained minimum TOEFL 530(CBT 197, iBT 71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or TEPS 600(NEW TEPS 327)
2) English is your first language, and you have citizenship and completed higher education studies in an English-speaking country.
2. Specific to programs
A. New students (Mater’s, Integrated Master’s&Ph.D. Program)
1) Bachelor’s degree holder or those who are expected to obtain Bachelor’s degree (at the latest by February 2022)
※ Failure to submit the Graduation of Certificate for the Bachelor’s Degree by February 25, 2022 via express mail will result in the withdrawal of any offer of enrollment.
2) Anyone whose previous education attainment is equivalent Bachelor’s degree.
B. New students (Ph.D. Program)
1) Master’s degree holder or those who are expected to obtain Master’s degree (at the latest by February 2022)
※ Failure to submit the Graduation of Certificate for the Master’s Degree by February 25, 2022 via express mail will result in the withdrawal of any offer of enrollment.
2) Anyone whose previous education attainment is equivalent Master’s degree.
C. Transfer Program (2nd and 3rd Semester for Master’s, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Semester for Ph.D.)
1) Must be currently enrolled in or has completed coursework/graduated from a Master’s/Ph.D./Integrated degree program in Korea, and has obtained minimum 6 credits every semester.
※ Only those currently enrolled in the graduate program of any Korean university are eligible to apply. Transfer applicants have completed at least 2 semester in a previous institution before applying.
※ For each semester attended in the previous institution, credit transfer is allowed up to 6 credits.
※ Special Gradate Schools : Only those currently enrolled in the graduate program of any Korean university are eligible to apply. Transfer applicants have completed at least 2 semester in a previous institution before applying.
